Conclusions

Our crystal ball some time back allowed us to surmise that the new range of professional cards from Nvidia would certainly produce a wicked turn of performance.  It goes without saying; the performance shown above most certainly took us all completely and utterly by surprise!    Gasps of awe were heard more often than not as the results summaries appeared!

Within the SPEC Viewperf results we saw the Quadro FX 3500 match the Quadro FX4500 which shows just how much raw power is lying beneath the bonnet of the Quadro FX 3500.   It most certainly does romp ahead leaving the opposition from ATI currently sitting in the wings.   We have to make abundantly clear that a review has to be completed on the FireGL V7200 yet.     This will be with you soon and when this is complete; then you will be able to determine the final winner!   With the Quadro FX 3500 we saw complete and utter stability and persistent results were to be seen at all times which proved that the driver release most certainly has got all applications covered.  Kudos to the driver team for maintaining a worthy product so highly in the field.

Current EMRSP $1410 USD, £757 UKP, €1106 EURO (prices shown exclude Taxes, VAT and Shipping Costs), cards are shipping now and are in high demand.   SI and VAR’s will be able to purchase cards direct from Distributors; the anticipated demand will be extremely high for these new cards from Nvidia.   This certainly shows that both ATI and Nvidia are getting these superb products out to the consumer just after launch to meet demands and prove that neither camp is just providing a paper launch as some hard core analysts still think.

The golden crown so dearly held by ATI for that brief period has now gone; conversely speaking they have made hay whilst the sun shined on them.    The price performance war is now on!   But and there is always a but, with engineering feats of this magnitude from NVIDIA it certainly makes us wonder!   How will the elusive Quadro FX 5500 perform when it hits the streets up and running?   Will the FireGL V7350 survive its onslaught?   Finally the FireGL V7200, will this give Nvidia a headache, once more we will all have to be patient and await the outcome of our review.

In the meantime NVIDIA have trumped ATI with this new card and taken back their shiny throne.   Ultimately, it never ceases to amaze us in how the lightning fast power of the Quadro demonstrates at each new outing; it just keeps going from strength to strength!
