AKASA AK-965 (Intel) Heatsink Fan Cooler Review

Test Results and Conclusions
Taken from a room with an ambient temperature environment was maintained at a steady 24.2C

Conclusions
The components we used certainly produce a fair amount of heat in the demanding professional environment.     These have been an interesting set of tests for the review as not often a heatsink fan of this nature is let loose into the community for test and evaluation.   Though Akasa has proven that their heatsink fan has got the necessary components built into the heatsink fan to give the end user a quiet effective heatsink fan that will last for a long time throughout the life of the PC.

Utilising known benchmarks that most certainly stress the CPU and whole system I/O and in many areas;  much to our surprise the heat sink fan never crept past the 39C point which would have set of the test system alarms which covered both the south bridge and CPU.

Mounting of the heatsink fan was easy enough, you got a good resounding click that the retention pin had securely fitted into place.   A factor we do not always hear.   Acoustics of the fan were very good and of acceptable levels in the every day use in a system designed for the professional workstation.  Overall a well constructed component.

With these results shown and the actual cost of the heatsink fan being extremely competitive; OEM's and System Integrators have just got a foot hold on the ladder of maintaining some profit margin in this highly competitive market.   For OEM's and System Integrators that are interested, please contact Akasa direct to discuss quantity and pricing.

Though we must not forget the AMD camp, to follow up Akasa have just delivered here the AM2 variant.   Within the next week we should should be able to post an additional review with those results.

Finally this is a Heatsink Fan that the OEM and S.I. should seriously consider as the output results shown above are very significant to that final choice of "What Cooler to Use"!   To reiterate, affordable and quiet which will keep the end user very happy.
