The Everest - Just Keeping It Cool

Setting up Everest is a fairly simple procedure, just plug in the main cable to one of your USB ports then hook the other end of the supplied cable to the unit, switch it on, adjust the cooling fans to your needs and it is that simple.

There is as stipulated a 4 port USB hub on the rear of the Everest which helps with those extra USB devices we all lug about now.   For a more static use which some may utilise, we would suggest utilising a power supply to power the hub when the 4 port hub is fully loaded.

We took this one stretch further to see how it would perform with a 17" widescreen monster.   The Akasa Everest performed impeccably. Yes a slight overhang on both sides of approximately 3/4" but that really is nothing in the grand scheme of things.   Keeping it COOL is what is so vitally important.

This trusty  17" MSI unit certainly does throw out the heat after some excessive usage hauling a few big files around and about with some arduous online tasking.  Though sitting in the hotel rooms as we know, the heat builds up quickly from the vociferous central heating all too often found.  Its normally at this point as we stipulated the notebook fan kicks in and the distractions from the call of room service.

Not anymore.

Peace and quiet; all down to the Everest's smart logical cooling array.  Therefore be careful on the hours you then start to log on the notebook as it is very easy to get carried away when life gets easy.

This we have to say, this is such a novel idea and why has no-one come up with it before.

Simple effective, saving neck and eye strain.   However most importantly just adding that bit more longevity to those of us who love their big notebooks.

Its very difficult to sit back and think carefully on how to finally award this unique piece of equipment, some will love others well.... Here we think its such a great novel idea that it has to walk away with an Editors Choice.
