NVIDIA Quadro FX4600 Review

Conclusions

This certainly has been a review which we pre-anticipated that would be good. Actually, it’s exceedingly first-rate!

The professional graphics market now has its own set of steps; Entry Level, Mid Range, High-End and Ultra High-End. Each position is very much fought by both companies to maintain dominance in both sheer brute performance arena, which brings in many key customers.

Though the more frugal Cost v Performance customer is now heading to the fore and pulling in some areas of market share a fair percentage. However with a sub $2000 card of this enormity - brute and frugal will harmoniously meet!

Notwithstanding and to rain on this magnificent cards parade, we must also reflect. With cards of this calibre we have to have the fundamental grunt to follow suite from the computer systems basics. The test systems have shown provided excellent results without falter; a testament to MSI, Corsair, Western Digital and by no means least Akasa.

Every seasonal refresh of the professional workstation graphic cards from NVIDIA never cease to amaze. The power unleashed is very good indeed and the added bonus of all the new add on technology most certainly will support the end user to the highest degree. With the Next-Generation Vertex and Pixel Programmability Shader Model 4.0 and GPU Computing Technology for visualization with NVIDIA® CUDA™ will most certainly set the screens alight in all studios. The hard to believe complex solutions now being presented to designers and animators are incredible; and with these new add-on solutions life in the ultra fast lane has got uncomplicated.

Finally to reiterate the SPECviewperf® results for those last thoughts:

On this note we were not to be disappointed, the results across the board proved to be extremely good in almost all areas which are remarkable for a pre release driver. The driver is immature and needless to say the wizards of the NVIDIA workstation driver team are ferreting away to improve on these couple of shortfalls. This most certainly will produce a driver of resounding reliance which we have seen from the last Quadro driver release for the FX4500. Lets be honest, there are not many companies now which can produce a driver of this magnitude that has stood the test of time over 7 months. This really is a pretty tremendous achievement considering on how many refreshes we have seen in both mainboards and CPU’s – excellent forethought and planning!
Around the corner and coming soon we will see the monstrous NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 with its 1.5GB of memory and this will bring some pretty interesting results and facts with its added performance under the hood. So watch these spaces closely as we expect to bring you something out of the ordinary which will have you all talking about it for a very long time to come.
For now, the elite golden crown in the High-End professional graphic card arena is powerfully in the grasp of NVIDIA’s hand.
