The VelociRaptor Arrives

Western Digital had concluded a very comprehensive set of results, and for today we will have to run with these results until further notice till we present you very soon with our own exciting findings.

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit)
OS and benchmarks were installed on the drive under test
Competitor drives: latest generation of 1 TB drives currently shipping

Results shown below are courtesy of Western Digital and really these results shown do not need any further comment as they clearly show just how well the drive does perform.

Conclusions.

This new drive has an awesome amount to offer you all.  These are going to be very exciting times over the next few months. The overclocker who pushes their system to the fullest, which means 3D Mark results will be much higher than already seen.   The professional users, the obvious advantages will be seen within 3D Studio Max and Solid Works and all.

We will very soon bring you our own results of real-time applications and some synthetic benchmarks.   From what has been shown, we expect these to be very fast indeed speeding up many Disc I/O applications many fold. 

In the meantime, like you all we have to wait for the final results to make definitive conclusions, but as stipulated in the beginning with the VelociRaptor - The Beast has been Unleashed
