Western Digitals Caviar Black 1TB Hard Disc

At the beginning of the year we saw the introduction of the power and energy efficiency behind the Western Digital 1TB Green Disc.  This really amazed us all as it romped on home against its main rival the Seagate Barracuda 7200.11, knocking it well into the sidelines.   To date the secret behind the true spindle speeds of the GP 1TB disc are only known to the few.  A good set of guesses have been made, though just not right.

A few months later and out marches the new 1TB RE-2 drives and these brought with them a huge leap forward within the professional and enterprise scenarios.  Some exceptionally fast results had been obtained from them as many will remember when we launched up the FireGL V7700 exclusive.   Just as we were getting used to the blistering new Western Digitals RE 2 Drives; along comes a nice new Caviar Black 1TB desktop disc with a scorching 32MB Cache.    This larger cache will offer many high-end power users swift transfer of large files with a breeze.   The Western Digital R & D team behind the Desktop and Enterprise drives have been working exceptional overtime producing such marvellous products.

The new 1TB Caviar Black hard discs are primarily designed for the professional desktop user who requires power, performance and, oh yeah mega gamer whose hard discs fill with all those patches and games galore that require excessive disc space.   These discs will most certainly satisfy all those thirsty requirements listed.

Hard discs of this nature now are being vogue with many end users and the demand for reviews with the discs in as powerful systems possible is the request of the day.   With professional graphic’s getting more powerful and demanding more disc space, it’s critical that the correct systems show the right hard discs, as there are some instances conflicts.   Here with showing exclusive first outings of the new professional graphic cards, it’s critical that the whole system I/O performs flawlessly.   Therefore with each new outing, you the reader knows, what is seen here – works.

From previous outings we have seen the Western Digital discs power consumption getting less as each new release hits the market.  On our outing back in January of the 1TB head to head the new Green Caviar 1TB GP disc saw power consumption at an all time low.  This new more powerful disc is just slightly above those specs in some areas which goes to show Western Digitals firm dedicated commitment is on track to maintain a greener drive at all levels of performance.
